Welcome to Parenting after Separation.  

This course is for parents and other family members who are dealing with family issues including guardianship, parenting arrangements, contact, child support and spousal support.

If this is your first time visiting the site, please click the "Register" button at the top of the page and follow the instructions to register for this course.

Please double check your "first name" and "last name" for spelling because those are the names that will show on your completion certificate.

If you accidentally make a spelling error on your name, you can change it via "update my account" after you log in. Please click "update" to save your changes.

Once your registration is complete, you can click the "Log in" button and get started.

You must complete one of the Parenting After Separation courses before you can go to the provincial court to get or change an order about a family law matter.

When you are ready to begin, click on the "Courses" button found at the top of the page. 

This course is offered in multiple languages. You only need to take one version of this course to get your certificate. Click 'Go To Course' and choose the course in your preferred language. 

Once you're in the course, you can scroll down the page and see a list - 1 to 9 - of lessons.

Click on Lesson 1 to begin. 

On each lesson page, you'll find the learning objectives and topics for that lesson. Click on the first topic to get started. 

Every topic page is laid out in the same way with a brief introduction to the video that you need to watch.

If you're unable to load the video, there is an audio version. Or, if you can't access either the video or audio versions, a transcript is available.

You only have to choose one of the formats because the content is identical in all 3 formats. 

Once you've gone through the lesson, click the "Mark Complete" button to return to the Lesson Page. 

This will let the course track your progress. Please click "mark complete" for each lesson in order to view and print your certificate at the end.

Go through each of the topics in the same way.

There are optional activities throughout the course that will help you put what you've learned into practice.

There are Knowledge Checks in some of the lessons. You need to get 75% or more on the quiz to move to the next lesson. You can repeat the quiz as many times as you need to get 75% or more.

If you need to leave the course at any point, your progress is automatically saved. The next time you log in, you can continue where you left off.

At the end of the course, please take a minute to complete the anonymous survey to provide feedback on the course. 

To save or download a copy of your Certificate, click the "Print Certificate" button on the top of the course overview page. Or, if you are unable to print your certificate, you can choose to have it printed and mailed to you by contacting 604 209 9098.
